Dr Borut Toškan (archaeozoologist)

will direct archaeozoological research. His research interests include studies of animal remains in archaeological contexts from Palaeolithic to Early Medieval Period, focusing on palaeoeconomy, taphonomy, social and functional differentiation of communities, and palaeoenvironment. He already studied animal remains from high altitude settlements addressing the question of mountain grazing and transhumance.
