SLEDI / SPUREN (TRACES) is a travelling exhibition.
Opening May 8, 19:00. Atrij ZRC / ZRC Atrium
Open May 8 - May 28 2014.
On the centenary of the beginning of the First World War, two curators invited the artists to reflect on the changes that Europe has experienced in this period and to reflect on where we come from and where we are headed. The basic medium used in these artistic works is paper. Denise Parizek from Austria chose six artists from Slovenia whereas Vasja Nagy from Slovenia selected six artists from Austria.
Here, the Slovenian and Austrian artists address, through their work, the symbolic and material heritage, evaluate the identities of their ancestors and plan for future generations while exchanging their experience and other artistic endeavours. In the presence of the artists and experts from Austria and Slovenia, the exhibition grounds will serve as a location for discussions on modern borders, migrations, the loss of human dignity, as well as on the heritage of the First World War.
